| Being a non-profit organization and not
receiving any funding from the government (municipal or provincial), we
are always very appreciative of anyone who chooses to help the SPCA in
whatever way they choose. Below is a listing of the areas that we
consider important, but is not a limitation on areas that we need help.

VOLUNTEER SERVICE
We welcome new members/volunteers
anytime! Please call our Answering Service (902)863-2111 and leave your
name and phone number as well as a brief message indicating that you
would like to become a member of the SPCA and/or would like to
volunteer some of your time to help out. Someone will return your call.

FOSTER HOMES PROGRAM
Antigonish does not have a shelter. Any
pets that are brought to us, we must place in foster homes until a
suitable home can be found for them. Under our Foster Program,
volunteers agree to take SPCA animals into their homes until the
animal(s) can be adopted. Under normal circumstances, most pets are
adopted within a couple weeks of being placed into foster homes, and
rarely exceeds 3 weeks.
CASH DONATIONS
We are always in need of cash to facilitate the continuous operation of
our services. We welcome and appreciate any cash donations. Please
visit our contact page to best determine how to arrange making a
donation.
GIFT IN KIND
Many things are required to run such
an organization that we often overlook. Any gift is mostly appreciated
and will not go unnoticed. We are always in need of things such as
pencils, pens, paper, office equipment, pet cages, kitty litter, pet
food, pet toys etc...virtually anything imaginable can be useful and
can be donated to the SPCA We are always grateful for any donations.
PLANNED MONTHLY
GIVING
Planned giving allows you to make
small monthly donations directly from your banking account to the
Antigonish SPCA. Check with your bank about setting up this method of
giving, or contact us for more information.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS
We need people to help with BBQs,
Ticket Sales and distribution of educational materials.
